The Building Controls Industry Association (�鶹ԭ��) is delighted to announce the finalists for the �鶹ԭ�� Awards 2026, celebrating excellence, innovation and leadership across the building controls and BEMS sector.

With entries to the building controls and automation sector’s most prestigious awards, the �鶹ԭ�� Awards 2026, closing on Thursday 22nd January, the Building Controls Industry Association is urging individuals and organisations from across the industry to ensure nominations are submitted urgently.‍ ‍

Ricardo Miller’s rapid rise from apprentice to one of E.ON Controls Solutions’ top BMS Service Commissioning Engineers in just three years saw him take home this year’s Building Controls Industry Association (�鶹ԭ��) Apprentice of the Year award.

Kim Spencer has spent 46 years solving some of the toughest building control challenges from airports to MoD bunkers, and shaped the careers of countless young engineers along the way.

Based on their in-depth BEMS industry knowledge, as some of the leading names in the sector, the judges announced today are the most qualified to identify the right winners.

Some of the biggest names in the sector have sponsored next year’s awards.

Passiv UK won the highly sought after Technical Innovation of the Year – Products award at this year’s Building Controls Industry Association (�鶹ԭ��) 2025 Awards.

This new category recognises the end client, in-house facility manager or team that has demonstrated a long-term commitment to decarbonising a building or portfolio of buildings through the effective use of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).

3MSe Ltd’s winning project cut their client’s energy usage by 52% through active demand based ventilation technology.

While the category featured a myriad of superb entries, Group Horizon’s BEMS controls engineer apprenticeship scheme particularly stood out, with an impressive learner retention rate of 91.1% and the number of cohorts substantially exceeding their expectations.

SSE Energy Solutions’ Project Sales Engineer, Zoe Dickson, was the deserving winner of this year’s Building Controls Industry Association’s (�鶹ԭ��’s) Young Engineer of the Year award.

CHt utilised a combination of robust planning, through early stakeholder engagement, and design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) expertise to achieve an early handover – despite major world challenges impacting supply chains and costs.
